Lumo Translate
For iPhone · iOS 18 and later

Understand the sign, the speaker, the whole conversation.

Lumo Translate reads signs through your camera, translates people speaking another language into your headphones, and handles a two-way conversation without you choosing who is talking.

Four tabs, one job each

Pick your language and theirs once in Settings. Every tab uses the same pair.

Signs

Point the camera and read it. Foreign text is found in the live view and translated in place.

  • Freeze the frame to read at your own pace
  • Speaker button reads the foreign wording aloud
  • Overlay on or off, plus a history of signs you have read

Listen

Foreign speech to your language, through headphones. Built for sitting in on a talk, a tour or a call.

  • One clean text panel instead of a box per sentence
  • Show or hide the original wording beneath the translation
  • Optional spoken translation into your headphones

Conversation

Two people, two languages, no buttons to press. The app listens for both languages at once and works out who spoke.

  • Your language plays to your headphones, theirs on the speaker
  • Wrong guess? Tap Actually and it re-listens in the other language
  • Lock to one language when you want to take detection out of the picture
  • Tap any line to hear it again

Settings

Tune it to how you talk.

  • Accent or dialect for each language
  • Most accurate listening, using Apple's servers, or on-device where possible
  • How long a pause to wait before translating
  • Download language packs so translation works without a connection

Why people use it

Hands up, not hands full

Read a menu or a station board without typing it into anything.

Natural conversations

Pauses are respected, so people are not cut off mid-sentence.

Private by design

Translation runs through Apple's Translation framework. On-device listening is available if you prefer it.

Made for travel

Offline language packs and a clear, glanceable interface.
